DISCOVERY CHANNEL REBRAND

The Brief
For this brief the requirements were to redesign and create visuals for the Discovery channel brand.

The redesigned logo was to capture the channels ethos, and appeal to its current target audience and have a suitable font for the typography.

The redesigned logo was to then be applied to a series of television stings, a channel schedule, and a ticker-tape.
The Problem
The problem associated to this brief, was to redesign the Discovery channel brand, by redesigning a whole new brand logo from scratch, then ensuring that this logo would work on different forms of media such as, stings/idents , schedule filler and ticker-tapes.

The problems related to the original discovery logo:
The logo is too complex and too detailed. The detail in the logo could easily get lost on different forms of media. The original logo would be perfect if it was in a larger format, but when sized down it could become tricky to identify details. Therefore the redesigned brand would need to become simplified.

The current existing stings:
The stings currently for discovery are quite mediocre and audiences can become quite easily disinterested very quickly, which makes it very important that I design stings that will grab audiences attention, or maintain the audiences attention all the way through the sting.
